join forces!

For over 20 years, Acute Engineering has led the industry in structural engineering for light-frame construction projects. We remain committed to growing with our clients and have expanded from a handful of employees to a staff of more than 75, working in and servicing the Western United States. Our growth and size translate into a reputation of unparalleled responsiveness, timely turnaround, and clean engineered drawings.

As part of our growth strategy, we’re excited to announce the acquisition of Dynamic Structures by Acute Engineering. Dynamic Structures is a premier structural engineering firm, providing services for custom homes and commercial structures throughout Utah for over two decades. The owner, Jay Adams, and his team are experienced in a wide range of project types and will bring that experience of diverse projects into Acute Engineering.

What Does this mean?

for Acute Engineering Clients?

For many of our clients there will be no noticeable change. You will continue to work with the same licensed engineers and our deliverables, (e.g., engineered plans and calculations), will look the same.

While our focus has historically been light-frame construction, our acquisition of Dynamic Structures allows Acute Engineering to service a more diverse range of projects, such as steel structures, podium construction, tilt-up concrete, and other methods of construction. Additionally, Dynamic Structure’s drafting experience with Revit means we can now offer Revit and BIM modeling services. Jay Adams will also provide training to our team so we can continue to improve the diversity of engineering and experience we can offer.

Dynamic Structure's clients?

You will continue working with the same engineers as usual. Jay Adams, George Jacklin, and Brad Ellis will remain your main points of contact. They’ll now be supported by a large staff who are able to assist with calculations, detailing, redlining, and drafting. The greater staff support will allow Jay, George, and Brad to more efficiently complete your engineering projects. Working with the same engineers you are familiar with; you can expect to get the same attention and responsiveness you have previously received. Our goal is to improve your overall experience with our office.
